Mum Moons The Entire Crowd After Faceplanting During Parents' Race At Sports Day

A mum was left mortified when she accidentally mooned a crowd of children, teachers, and parents when she faceplanted during a parents’ race at her daughter’s school sports day.

Katie Hannaford, 36, decided to join the run last week after she was convinced by her eight-year-old daughter take part along with the other parents.

The Essex woman had always expected to come last in the parents’ race, admitting she was “not sporty at all”, but what she didn’t expect was to trip over her own feet in a matter of seconds and land with her dress up over her head. Watch here:

In the side-splitting video from the sports day, Katie can be seen wearing a blue dress, lining up in the third lane from the left.

When the race begins with the blow of a whistle, Katie quickly finds herself at the back of the race, and moments later on the ground.

Unfortunately, her dress comes up over her head and reveals her underwear – for all the crowd to see.

While Katie manages to get back up on her knees in record time, quickly pulling her dress back down from over her head, both adults and children in the crowd can be heard reacting to her fall, letting out a sympathetic groan for the mum.

Katie, who owns a homeware company can, thankfully, see the funny side looking back on the incident, describing the public fall as ‘hilarious’.

She said: “I’m not sporty at all, but [my daughter] kept begging me. In the end I agreed to the race – I knew I’d come last.”

Trying to make sense of what went wrong on the day, Katie continued: “I just tripped over my own feet – I think my body was just moving too fast for my legs! I’m so clumsy, I’m always falling over.”

While she was admittedly ‘humiliated’ when the fall happened – and was captured on camera – Katie now believes it was the ‘funniest thing I’ve ever done in my life’.

“I was humiliated at the time, but it is what it is! I flashed my underwear which is obviously embarrassing but you just have to own it,” she said.

“Looking back, it’s hilarious – definitely the funniest thing I’ve ever done in my life!”

We have to commend Katie for her attitude. Although she mightn’t be the best runner, she was a fantastic sport!
