Camilla Wore Charles' Clothes To The Jubilee
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, turned heads over the course of the Platinum Jubilee weekend with her stellar outfit choices, but did you notice that she wore a piece belong to her husband Prince Charles?
The future Queen Consort looked stunning in an embroidered gown during Saturday’s Platinum Party and the Palace, but what royal fans might not have realised at the time is that the outfit was first worn by the Duke during a visit to Saudi Arabia.
Camilla’s outfit was hidden for most of the event by a sleek, black zip-up jacket.
However, when it came time to take to the stage with Prince Charles, Camilla unzipped the jacket to reveal the breathtaking black gown with silver detailing embellishments.
The gown, beautiful as it is, was even more impressive when royal fans realised that Charles had previously been gifted the wool and cashmere robe during a royal visit to Saudi Arabia years prior.
The piece, reportedly known as a ‘Saudi Daqlah’, was made by acclaimed fashion designer Yahya Al Bishri.
Donning her husband’s traditional gown, Camilla paired the look with a timeless pair of diamond earrings, long black trousers, and flat black shoes, styling her hair in effortless waves.
Fans who watched the affair from home couldn’t get enough of Camilla’s look, taking to Twitter to rave about the gown.
“Oh wow! Duchess of Cornwall’s outfit tonight! Smashing!!!!” tweeted one viewer.
“WOW she wins the night with that fabulous outfit, just stunning” commented a second.
“Duchess of Cornwall has incredible fashion game, honestly she never disappoints” raved a third.
“The Duchess of Cornwall has been looking incredible over the last few days” a fourth added.
Camilla had taken to the stage alongside Charles to accompany him as he delivered a heartfelt speech in honour of his ‘mummy.’
Paying tribute to the Queen, he said: “You laugh and cry with us and, most importantly, have been there for us, for these 70 years.
“You pledged to serve your whole life – you continue to deliver. You continue to make history.”
Elsewhere in the speech, he referred to his late father Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, noting that he was “much missed this evening but I am sure he is here in spirit.”
Speaking to the crowds that gathered on the Saturday to celebrate the Queen, he stated: “My papa would have enjoyed the show and joined us wholeheartedly in celebrating all you continue to do for your country and your people.”
